Swimmer Development Event

Last Updated on Wednesday, 13 September 2017 12:13 Wednesday, 13 September 2017 11:37

Herts Dev Day 2017 Hertfordshire ASA kicked off the 2017-18 season with a fantastic development event at Westminster Lodge in St. Albans. More than 40 swimmers and 20 coaches representing over 20 clubs in the County attended the event. The purpose of the event was to offer a county wide opportunity for both swimmers and coaches to improve their understanding of the athlete pathway and technical elements of starts and turns. We had a two hour pool session delivered by guest coach, Kyle Frantzeskou, who has great experience working with many of Britain’s up and coming stars. It was fantastic to see all the different club swimmers and coaches engaging with each other and sharing ideas. A special thank you to Paul Wollaston and Ann-Marie Keenan for all their behind the scenes work in organising the event.
“It was a very useful evening and it has laid a solid platform for us to build on in 2018. We intend to run three development events in Hertfordshire in 2018 for both swimmers and coaches to learn and progress. This is a great starting point and we need to use the momentum we now have and enthusiasm from all the coaches to drive the county programme forwards.” Kevin Pickard – ASA East Region Swimming Talent Officer
