Watford Water Polo U13′s start Summer campaign with three wins

The U13s started their summer London League campaign today at Whitgift School with a 100% record.

The team travelled to Whitgift with only eight players & with the change in age group this current squad were slightly depleted as some of the winning Winter League team have moved up to our U15′s squad.

The opening game of the season saw watford play WL Penguins & the team put in a very disiplined performance with Eric in goal making some fine saves, he kept the opposition from scoring any goals in our 6-0 win. Dylan Munday was in fine form scoring 5 of the goals.

The team performances continued in the other two matches as we beat Chelmsford 4-3 & Beckenham 3-1 to start the season with a 100% record. Jack Leeson continued his disciplined approach to Pit Defence and together with a good press defence the team only conceded 4 goals the three matches played.

Sabrina and Coen created good options down both wings and the two youngest team members, Niyam and Ollie took responsibility by playing Pit Attack exceedingly well with Ollie rewarded for his efforts by scoring a goal. Arish was superb in both attack and defence.

U13′s Coach Nikki Baker commented after the games “It was a great start to our summer league season. I am pleased with the way the team played & If they work hard we have a great chance of winning the league this season.

Next round of games will be at QE Boys School on Sunday 18th June when we will play Croydon, Beckenham & Ealing.
