Watford Water Polo With Triple Wins

Watford Water Polo had the perfect weekend of BWPL action at Basildon Sports Villiage on the 27th & 28th September as the team secured three wins & scored 68 goals in the process, whilst conceding only 25.

The Club came into the weekend’s fixtures having beaten Cambridge (11-9) but losing to York (8-11) at Sheffield in early September so winning this weekend’s round of three fixtures was key to securing a top five finish.

Saturday got off to the perfect start when the team took on current league leaders & undefeated Cheltenham Spartans and what a game this was. Watford were in total control winning the game 27-8.

On Saturday evening the team beat Southampton in a closer game 14-8.

On Sunday the Club completed their third victory beating Basildon 27-9.

Watford are now well placed to chase for promotion to Div 3. The play-offs, in the BWPL, pit the top 5 teams of one tier against the 3 bottom teams in the higher tier for 3 promotional places.

Their goal tally of 68, this weekend, is the highest weekend total in this Division so far this season, and their total goals this season exceeds that of any other team across all Divisions (5 for Men, and 3 for Ladies).
