Volunteer Support for Herts Masters 22nd June 2012, The Venue, Borehamwood

This concerns all those who might be thinking of coming along to the Herts Masters Gala on Saturday, 22nd June to support the swimmers…

You may be aware that the swimming gala organisers need a lot of volunteers to make the event flow successfully.  Not only do we need Technical Officials but we also need lots of Event Support Staff to help run and organise other aspects of the event (Competitors Stewards, Drink Monitors, Medal Table Managers, Results Runner, Door Staff and so on).  In the past it’s been difficult to get this sort of help.  This is mainly because the traditional source of volunteers for non-Masters events – parents and carers - are in most cases missing for Masters events.

So, if you are thinking of attending this event as a non-swimmer, maybe you know someone who is swimming or maybe you’re a swimmer who can’t compete through injury, I’d be really grateful if you could think about offering your services on this evening.

There are many benefits:

·         you feel a part of something (sort of a Herts ASA Gamesmaker)

·         it’s cooler poolside than up in the gallery

·         you don’t get bored watching all the swimmers who you don’t know

·         there’s no entry fee

·         and, most importantly…it’s great fun and you meet a lot of fantastic people

If you’re able to help please contact Caroline Holt directly (email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Don’t worry; you don’t need to have done it before.  We’ll be able to train you ‘on the night’.
