Fastest 13 Year Old in Great Britain

Hoddesdon swimmer Georgina Pryor (13) pupil at Herts and Essex School Bishop’s Stortford became the fastest 13 year old in Great Britain to swim the 100m butterfly when she competed at the British Gas Swimming Championships 2012 (Olympic Selection Trials) at the London Aquatics Centre on Saturday 3rd March 2012 winning her heat in a time of 1.03.99.

Georgina is now the fastest 13 year old girl in Great Britain for the 100m butterfly.

She is the fastest EVER 13 year old girl to swim the 100m butterfly in Hertfordshire and the East Region.

The first heat of the girls 100m butterfly was the very first female race held in the new London Aquatic Pool, and therefore Georgina can claim she was the first ever female race winner in the new Olympic pool!

Georgina has qualified for the British Champs 20th -23rd June, and the National Age Group Championships 22nd – 26th July for the 100m Butterfly.  Both events will be held in Sheffield.

Georgina said “I was a little nervous whilst waiting in the call room and felt I was going to be sick.  The London Aquatic Centre is so big compared to other competition pools.  This experience definitely makes me want to compete at an Olympic Games.”
